Bobby McFerrin

Bobby McFerrin is one of my heroes and yes indeed, he has been on my vision board since 2015! When he offered up the microphone to anyone who wanted to sing, I literally jumped out of my seat and was up there in a matter of seconds!  What followed was one of the highlights of my entire life!

Chrissy Metz
interview with Dot

This is Us star, Chrissy Metz, attended vocal courses taught by Dot Todman. Watch the December 2016 interview with Todman, Metz discussed how important vocal training has been in her life:

"It’s great if you hit all the perfect notes, that’s great, but if you can’t make anybody feel something because you’re not feeling it, what’s the point?"

To People Magazine she said: “I am proud of who I am”. After years of struggling with diets and depression, Chrissy looks back on her journey to self-acceptance, fame, and becoming a role model for body positivity. Ultimately, she landed her “dream” role on This Is Us and says she’s finally come to terms with her status as the breakout star. “I learned to embrace the idea that people could be inspired by me.”

In another interview, Chrissy  revealed the helpful guidance she once received when it came to loving her body. “My vocal coach in L.A., Dot Todman, she actually had me, she said, ‘Chrissy, I want you to sing in the mirror naked,’ I was like, ‘The hell? You want me to what?’ ” Metz recalled. “It’s just accepting you’re not your body. It’s the vessel that your spirit occupies,” Metz said about being comfortable in her own skin.
